Morning: Visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and Royal Botanical Garden

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, established in 1975, began with several orphaned or work-injured elephants. Today, several of these orphans are lucky enough to see their grandchildren born in the same place. Initially, the purpose of founding the Orphanage was primarily for tourism, but it soon became a center for conservation and education. Lunch time 9:15 a.m. / 1:15 p.m. / 4:15 p.m. Bath time 10:00 a.m. / 2:00 p.m. / 5:00 p.m. Depart for Nuwara Eliya. En route we will visit the Royal Botanical Garden. This Botanic Garden was originally built as a garden of enjoyment by a Sinhalese king and was enlarged by the British. Its extension is almost 60 hectares offering an incredible variety of trees, plants and flowers, around 4000 species. In the center of the garden we find one of the largest collections of orchids in the world.

Afternoon: Nuwara Eliya Tea Plantations Tour

Continuation of the route to the Nuwara Eliya Tea Plantations.
Nuwara Eliya, due to its healthy mountain climate and landscape, is the most famous place in Sri Lanka for mountain vacations. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lankan tea production, a blanket of green completely covers these mountains. They will be able to enjoy a cup of tea from the very heart of Sri Lanka. We will visit one of the elaboration factories where they will explain to us the different processes for obtaining the different qualities.
