Galle – Weligama – Udawalawe

Breakfast at the hotel.

Next, we will take a Tuk Tuk tour through the town of Galle. During the tour we will visit the most authentic areas of the city including a temple and a local school. We will then go into the most rural areas among rice fields, spice gardens and cinnamon plantations from where we will get to visit some villages and get to know their rural style while sharing a cup of tea with a local family.

After the visit, we will go to Udawalawe by road (130Km / 3.00h). Along the way, we will visit Weligama, where we will be able to observe the famous technique used by native fishermen, upon a nailed mast and a supporting sleeper. These fishermen called stilt fisherman stay on the waves for hours; a show truly worth seeing. Then we will visit the open-air market, that is the fish market, where we can find the most succulent fresh fish in the country.
